‘The Wackness’ is set in the summer of 1994, a time of when of cassette tapes, 90210, Air Jordans, Biggy Smalls and where the terms “word” and “peace out” were the tenants of the modern lexicon. For those who lived it, the movie is a hilarious (maybe a little unintentionally?) return what seemed like a more simpler time, as well as a moving coming of age story.
This movie also cements my appreciation of Ben Kingsley. He is amazing in this film.
Funnily enough Mary-Kate Olsen is in the film. For the record she was 8 and still in Full House in back in ‘94.

“I remember I led a peaceful, uneventful life as a little girl. I loved fries with ketchup, Bruce Lee was my hero, I wore Adidas sneakers and had two obsessions: Shaving my legs one day and being the last prophet of the galaxy.”

Trailer for Coco avant Chanel (Coco before Chanel)

I could have scored complimentary passes to see this movie at the Twin in Paddo. 4 hours too late.

Dammit.

The trailer for Jan Troell’s Everlasting Moments.

I hope the movie is as poignant and stunning as the trailer.

Sexual Chocolate! They play so fine, don’t you agree?
